This is an excellent book written by a sensitive woman who raised children and lived with a loving husband. Over the years she kept diaries and wrote essays as she learned about both herself and her immediate and extended family. The writing is finely crafted and reads with the polish one would expect to find in fine art. I have spoken with several other people who have also read this book and without exception they not only enjoyed, but were moved by it. I heartily recommend this book if you like real stories about real people and what happens sometimes in life. This is not a kiss and tell. It is just a family geography. Garrison Keillor would like this book.
