Another Country by James Baldwin
Another Country

Another Country is one of the novels that shaped my life. I was fortunate to have found an author as brilliant as James Baldwin at a young age.

Oprah: A Biography by Kitty Kelley
Oprah: A Biography

Joni Ashley, January 13, 2013

I admit that I am a fair weather Oprah fan. I can handle her in small doses only. I have read other books Kitty Kelley has written and I was impressed. Put the two together and you have a dynamic duo.Kitty includes an extensive bibliography to check her facts and interviewed Oprah's family and others to provide a good look at her private life.If you would like to know more about Oprah, this book is a must read.

Live Wire (Myron Bolitar) by Harlan Coben
Live Wire (Myron Bolitar)

Joni Ashley, January 13, 2013

I was very pleased to discover Harlan Coben. This book is part of the "Myron Bolitar "series. Myron is a sports agent and also doubles as a private investigator for his messed up clients and sports stars. The story is smart hip and easy to enjoy. Myron is a very likable character.I now know why Harlan Coben is such a popular writer.

Iron House by John Hart
Iron House

Joni Ashley, January 13, 2013

The author tells the story of two orphaned brothers abandoned in snowy woods. Found by hunters and close to death they are taken to "Iron House " a former asylum turned orphanage. The boys and the characters that surround them are amazingly described The plot is tightly woven with so many surprising twists that I read through the night to see how the book would end. Fast paced and exciting. John Hart has become my current favorite! A must read!
