Although I've appreciated many books about survival I still found Laurence Gonzales' exploration of this topic unique and compelling. He synthesizes numerous and varied survivor accounts with lucid discussions of what is known about the survival-oriented underpinnings of mind/body wiring. The implications for outdoor adventurers (whether recreational of extreme) are obvious, but this book is also fascinating from the viewpoint of living life in general.

The most beautiful love story I've read in a long, long time! I enjoyed every page. You'll need your hanky. I loved the background places and even learned a little French. A totally enjoyable read. I think I'll read it again!

Yikes! Sat on the edge of my seat all the way through! Lots of wonderful and crazy characters all kept me wondering who the killer was; didn't know till the end! Lots of suspense and mystery. If you like your hair to stand on end this is the book for you. Great read!

Huge thriller! Definately couldn't put it down! Lots of interesting characters and situations, much like real life is. Lots of suspense and mystery. I loved the love story as the plot thickened. Kept me guessing all the way through who the killer was. If you like your hair standing on end you'll love this book. Yikes! I think I'll check out my neighbors more carefully!
