In his Rawlins mysteries, Mosley allows his protagonist to make social commentary thru incidents related to setting. In this novel, he allows his protagonist to become immersed in reversed racism related to development of his characters. Interesting. Different. The end results is the growth of the main character and a strong statement castigating the realities of on going racism by a White society who refuses to grown past "set ways" of looking at others.
