I started and finished A Sense of Direction in one evening; I couldn't really stop thinking about it, so I couldn't put it down. I found it...

I have been married 36 years - happily. Nevertheless, I found this book enriching, eye-opening and inspiring! I loved Eat, Pray, Love and this continuation of her story is wonderful. Having reluctantly made the commitment to marry (read why in the book!) she decides to go in eyes wide open. Her researches take her far and wide, and there is no subject matter having to do with marriage that Elizabeth Gilbert doesn't talk about. Please, check it out from your library, or better yet, buy it here at Powell's! I did!
Mary Maguire's craft books are incredible. Detailed instructions, excellent photography and beautiful ideas abound. In this particular book - Sticks and Stones is great for those who want to use nature finds to create. Charming painted rocks, stick furniture and even jewelry designs can be found in the 25 fully detailed plans and ideas. A great addition to any crafter's library!
Jennifer is a remarkable woman, with a remarkable vision. I own all of her books, and find her enriching, motivating and encouraging. There are 52 sections, one for each week of the year, and there are great prompts for writing, setting your priorities and exploring what your soul seeks. Highly recommended for women from newlyweds to the retired!
Reading this book over a period of two months, taking time to absorb the lessons and meditate on Abby Seixas' message, I found myself enriched in ways beyond what I expected. As she presents her ideas and materials, Seixas gives solid, concrete ways to recover balance and meaning, just as the subtitle to the book states.
Her methodology is sound, and her technique is based on years as a psychotherapist, specializing in issues of life balance. I found the exercises both helpful and intriguing, since they are not the typical psychobabble one often hears in self-help types of books. Instead, she teaches you methods of reaching within yourself (to that "Deep River") and drawing on your strengths and your joys to become who you long to be.
Seixas doesn't preach. She doesn't tell you how wrong your beliefs are. She simply opens the door for your own discoveries, and in doing so, provides a path that may lead you to where you actually want to go, not where society, your family, friends or co-workers think you should be!

The prolific Ms. Albert has done it again! A book of intense reading pleasure, Susan's stories about her life in 2008 resonated with me. She is very concerned with the environment, with creating an authentic life, and with reaching out to our potential. Highly recommended, especially for women who want to sample a journal on a very personal basis; there are some great ideas here!
