I loved reading this book! It was so interesting, and sometimes pretty funny. It sheds a lot of light on what is going on in Austen's books--all those subtleties that we just don't pick up on, because we don't know why someone was insulted, or why their friends were shocked. For anyone who is interested in any kind of literature from this era, I highly recommend this book, even if he or she is not Jane Austen's number one fan.
I was very excited when I stumbled across this book. I have wanted to start introducing my almost-three-year-old daughter to some stories about Jesus in a concrete book format, but most Bibles for children are way beyond her level, with hundreds of words on the page. She needs a high picture-to-word ratio, which these books offer.
While the poems probably reflect something about Keillor, I didn't feel that it sounded like he WROTE them. Some of these poems are really amazing. I'm not even Keillor's #1 fan (though I have family who are). I cried when I read one of them.
