This is an unforgettable book. I have been thinking about this book daily since I finished it over a week ago. You may wish it were fiction, but unfortunately, the characters and conditions are all too real. This book is the best book I have read yet in the "non-fiction narrative" genre. The author spent three years living among the residents of the Annawadi slum so unfortunately, it will be a long wait until her next book, if she researches it to the same extent as this one.
I am still thinking about the characters in this story. The author does a great job illustrating the cultural differences between the so-called "developed" western countries and "undeveloped" countries. There are many things about this story that make it a "must read".
Boy saves girl from wolves. Girl loves wolf-boy from afar. Wolf-boy loves girl from afar. Will they find each other? I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised!

This riveting book provides a first-hand look at life during the time of the American Revolution. What makes it unusual is that the story is told through the eyes of a household slave from that period. Even though this is a young adult book, I, as an adult, found it very enjoyable to read and learned quite a lot about this period in our country's history. The book left me anxiously waiting for its sequel!
Reading this book, I felt as if I was in the car stormchasing along with the characters. I could see the storms materializing in front of me, even though I have never lived in the Midwest and witnessed severe weather such as that described in the story. The author also does such a great job with the characters that I felt as if Charles were my twin. The ending was a little too tidy but overall, I really enjoyed this book.
