How to Cook a Wolf by M F K Fisher
How to Cook a Wolf

Lisa Smith, March 3, 2009

There is no one like M.F.K. Fisher for instructing on how to hold your head high during hard times. The wolf she is cooking is the one who is at the door. (And she was writing in the time and place of food rationing.) She cooks him well, with advice on the relationship between discipline and appetites, with recipes, and with spirit. Must reading in these days.

I do know one kindergartner who says, "It must be hard to be president. You have to get dressed up all the time."
