Very enlightening and entertaining way to look at Taoism. The author uses Pooh and other stories to demonstrate how simple life can be, it we would only allow it to be simple. Very hard concept for many today, but I certainly would like to try. A very sweet, but important book.

I want to believe in Mermaids and The New Moon's Arms makes it possible to believe. Nalo Hopkinson is a wonderful author that always has alot of truth and reality mixed with something a little of the mystical. I love the main character, Calamity who in addition to having "special" qualities is also having hot flashes. It also provides insight into a women's thinking about so many things, children, lovers, work, and a host of other issues. Love It!!!

I have started a children's bookclub and this is their 1st book to discuss. Ifound the stories very warm and worthy of discussion with young children, especially the button and the letter stories.
