This book is difficult to characterize. It has magic, technology posing as magic, a dragon, a hero or several, a world in peril, mystery, believable characters, a really evil villain and a cliff-hanger ending. The only thing missing is romance, though I have no idea how the author could have fit it in. Maybe that's part of his plans for subsequent books in the series. The book is about a parallel world that was re-engineered based on earlier earth history but that plan has run its course and needs updating. A worthy addition to the series. Hope it is not the last.
