This book explored the amazing range of relationships - relationships among family and strangers but especially relationships with the canines that inhabit what we consider our world. It was quite a journey.

Bundrick has taken what we know about Van Gogh and filled in the blanks with this story about the woman he may have loved and who loved him. I kept having to remind myself that this was fiction, it remained so true to the known facts and Van Gogh's own words.
