This cookbook is inspiring, innovative, and insightful! Every recipe makes me ache to get into the kitchen and start cooking--and the photography is so incredible you almost want to lick the pages! I have made and served many things from Heidi's books and they have always been well received and thoroughly enjoyed by all. It can be easy to fall into vegetarian rut, but this book is full of new ideas, incredible flavor combinations, and new every day meals that will nourish your body and delight your tastebuds.

Heidi's approach to whole, natural foods is at once approachable and innovative at the same time! The stunning photographs draw you in, the unique combinations of flavors captivate your senses, and the straight forward preparation gives you the confidence to actually get in the kitchen and make it! I find myself turning to this book again and again for both new inspiration as well as to remake dishes that have already become my all-time favorites! These recipes are quick enough for the everyday, yet impressive enough for special occasions. The ingredients are simple to find, though I usually have them all on hand--but somehow Heidi's recipes in this book are able to transform basic ingredients into phenomenal, satisfying perfection. If you are looking for easy and delicious was to incorporate more unprocessed, real foods into your diet--this is the book for you! The recipes are vegetarian and could easily be adjusted to suit carnivores in most cases--although I encourage you to just make it Heidi's way the first time and see that no one will miss the meat!

This book is a refreshing take on vegetarian cuisine and by far the most inspiring cookbook I have read in a long time. With a focus on local, seasonal ingredients, the recipes and stories in this book really highlights the bounty of the pacific northwest. Not only are the recipes fantastic, but the stories and profiles of local farmers has made me more aware of exactly who and what I am supporting when I buy locally grown food.
