Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Shadow of Night

Margie, August 8, 2012

Another thrilling book from Deborah Harkness in her trilogy, which I actually hopes goes into more than just three books as I am already champing at the bit for the third one - vampires, witches and daemons, OH MY! The weaving of history and fantasy kept me enthralled with its many twists and turns, as did the developing relationships between the primary characters. Contact with the fathers and those timely relationships was deeply touching. All around a great book. I have read A Discovery of Witches was the adult version of Twilight. Having not yet read the Twilight series or seen the movies, I do not have that for comparison, but I doubt those books have the scholarly nature of Ms. Harkness' writings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Emergency Food Storage & Survival Handbook: Everything You Need to Know to Keep Your Family Safe in a Crisis by Peggy Dianne Layton
Emergency Food Storage & Survival Handbook: Everything You Need to Know to Keep Your Family Safe in a Crisis

Margie, May 8, 2012

A good starter book to get ready for emergency preparedness. With the mindset of many of the people of the world today, the crazy weather patterns, earthquakes, etc., it is best to be prepared for any emergency that might happen. I try not to be an alarmist, but each individual must realize you cannot rely on the government to ride to your rescue in the event of a widespread disaster. You must be able to take care of yourself - at least for a while and maybe even for months. Get yourself prepared now and this book can help you get started.

Dreamgates: Exploring the Worlds of Soul, Imagination, and Life Beyond Death by Robert Moss
Dreamgates: Exploring the Worlds of Soul, Imagination, and Life Beyond Death

Margie, April 4, 2012

I have always been interested in dreams and even remember some from when I was a child. For years I have journaled my dreams which can be pretty wild at times. Having had some spontaneous precognitive, shamanic and creative experiences, and some I have actively sought, I recently felt compelled to read Dreamgates by Robert Moss. Although I should not have been with all I have experienced, I was taken aback by this book which described so many key points of my dream experiences. I was thrilled to find simple exercises to heighten my control of my dreaming experience and to even take me to where I wanted to go. This book is an easy read and is a gem of a book for the beginner and experienced person alike who want to enhance their skills and travel/journey to interesting places and make worthwhile and helpful contacts. My next read is Active Dreaming by Mr. Moss. I think you will find his writings a helpful resource.

Karmic Regression Therapy & Karmic Reiki: An Official Guide by Martyn Pentecost
Karmic Regression Therapy & Karmic Reiki: An Official Guide

Margie, February 20, 2012

I do believe we have karmic issues we need to deal with through this life, whether it be from past lives or cellular memories or even universal karma. While this was an interesting book, I thought there would be more guidance and exercises for self help. At times, the writing was poor and meanings hard to decipher.

The Code: Unlocking the Ancient Power of Your Birthday by Johanna Paungger
The Code: Unlocking the Ancient Power of Your Birthday

Margie, February 16, 2012

I enjoy books which impart old Wisdom and it is interesting to read a book on birthdate meaning which is not just the same old astrology sign book. After all, we are all struggling right now to understand ourselves, others, and the world at large. Any extra clues which might help me in my endeavors are always welcome and you may feel the same. Also, read the other books by Johanna Paungger and Thomas Poppe (Moon Time, The Art of Timing, and Guided by the Moon). Between their four books, you will find a multitude of old Wisdom which will hold you in good stead for quite a while.
