This book caputured my attention from the very beginning and carried it right through until the end. The mystery of what would cause a little boy to become mute was enthralling. The characters developed by Karen White are completely realistic and engaging. The focus on the South Carolina backdrop makes me want to hop in my car and go exploring there myself. I imagine if you are from this area it would be like coming home. This is my first Karen White book and I am sure I will read many more by this talented author!
A love story of sorts that gets tripped up along the way. So let's say a real life love story with realistic characters and a beautiful setting. I LOVE Kristin Hannah's books, although this was not my favorite it ranks in the top three. A perfect summer read for any woman who is seeking true happiness in their life. Learn through Elizabeth and Jack Shore how to find true love, it is where you least expect it!!
The tale of one Rabbit and one Dragon who would become the best of friends! A fairy tale style story with a perfect ending. Kenny the rabbit and Grahame (like the cracker) the dragon convince the entire village that there will be a fierce battle "to the death". A story filled with friendship, acceptance and a bit of suspense! I absolutely loved this story! A perfect book for the young and young at heart!
This is my favorite book of 2010! It is a love story at its finest! A bit of history along the way of the Japanese American experience int he US at a most difficult time. A perfect read for anyone who has fallen in love, who loves historical fiction or who is an immigrant's descendant.
