Stoner (New York Review Books Classics) by John Williams
Stoner (New York Review Books Classics)

MollyH, May 28, 2010

The sad story of a man's life, but totally intriguing. It takes him from youth to death. He becomes a college professor, marries and leads an unsatisfactory life for the most part. The story goes into great depth about his professional and personal life. He wants to be an extraordinary teacher, husband, and father, but fails to succeed in any part of his life, except for occasional achievement. It's difficult, if not impossible to put the book down.
