One thing I love about Gini Koch's Alien series is the humor, and Alien Proliferation is no exception...despite the usual crises. Kitty is having a baby, which turns out to be more hazardous than expected; people are trying to kill Kitty's mom and Chuckie; the bad guys want Martini and Kitty's super-talented baby; and her team is being kidnapped. Oh, and Christopher just might be falling in love. Yes, the plot is complicated, but Koch keeps it covered, and Kitty's off-the-wall thinking helps save the day again. Even when she's lugging a baby along, and the Supreme Pontifex is-- Becoming her assistant?
Great characters, lots of snark, danger, happy times or sad - Alien Proliferation is a romp and a half, and a fun read. Looking forward to the next in the series, Alien Diplomacy.
A wonderful, engrossing sequel! Great, well-rounded characters, both real and fictional; good balance between action, political drama, and the characters' lives. What I loved most, though, was that it deals with the struggle over slavery from a different direction than the usual "What if the South had won?" question. Can't wait for the next in the series!
