Beginning AppleScript by Stephen G Kochan
Beginning AppleScript

NG, December 11, 2010

This is a great book! It got me started on programming, and I've taken off from here. This book taught me exactly the way I learn: by example. It's crammed with useful, real-world examples of code. You move along with the author, and he explains as he goes, line by line. I was never confused, and always felt like I was moving along very quickly. The superb organization of the book always left me eager for more, which was promised (and came) in the next chapter.
AppleScript is a great language to get started with, as it provides an easy introduction to important programming concepts (object-oriented programming, program flow, good practice, interface design, etc.).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
