Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole
Kiss of a Demon King

NIXPIX, January 10, 2010

HOT!HOT!HOT!!!
Kresley Cole is a very talented author who brings her characters to life. Her ability to incorporate suspense, humor, action, and of course hot heroes and heroines makes her books a must read. I love all her books, but she really pulled out all the love arsenal with Kiss of a Demon King. This is my all time favorite book.

The Lord of the Rings (One Volume) by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Lord of the Rings (One Volume)

NIXPIX, September 29, 2009

There is no rating that could possibly touch this literary masterpiece. I first read T.L.O.T.R. over 16 years ago and I have read it several times since. Warning, this is a very long book..over 3000 pages, but I promise you that those pages will fly by. This book wraps you in the magnificent world Mr. Tolkien has brought to life in its pages. There is a reason that an epic movie was produced in honor of this book. Mr. Tolkien is a literary genius who excels in his ability to enthrall his readers with his dynamic style of creative writing.

The High House (Aspect Fantasy) by James Stoddard
The High House (Aspect Fantasy)

NIXPIX, September 29, 2009

This is an excellent literary masterpiece. If you are a fan of the fantasy genre and love complex books, this is the perfect author for you. Mr. Stoddard takes you on a fantastic adventure. A little about the book without giving away too much: The High House is a house that is actually a time portal. There are various rooms that lead to different time frames in history. There is a master keyring that opens all the doors. There is a caretaker for the house who is in charge of the keyring and also keeping the clocks of time constantly wound. The caretaker has a young son who lives in the house with him. There is a villain called the Bobbit, who is trying to steal the keyring. The Bobbit tricks the little boy into getting the keyring and then the boy has to chase the Bobbit through the house and different eras of history to try and recover the keyring. The boy does a lot of growing up and learns some hard learned life lessons in his quest to get the keyring back. I felt that there was an underlying christian theme in this story. The book can be a little difficult to follow, so it is for the serious literary enthusiast. But if you are into a 'Matrix' of books, this is the book for you.

Immortals: The Calling
Immortals: The Calling

NIXPIX, July 1, 2009

GREAT READ!
This is the first book of the Immortal series. There are several contributing authors to this series: Jennifer Ashley, Robin T. Popp, and Joy Nash. Jennifer Ashley has done a wonderful job in The Calling. The story starts out with a witch named Amber. While trying to discover how her sister had been murdered, she attracts the attention of a powerful demon. Darius, the ancient warrior who had been chasing the demon, comes to Ambers rescue. The story combines mysticism, great characters and story line, suspense, and of course steamy love scenes. It was truly a delight to discover this series.
