Nicholas Lodge is a very good Sugar artist and teacher. He gives step by step instructions that even the novice sugar artist can understand. If you like sugar art and cake decorating then this is a great book to start learning with. Followed by his Book Two- Advanced and then Book 3 for a complete Sugar tutorial. I highly recommend any book Nicholas Lodge prints, very instructive and and who knows... You might become addicted to the craft. Like me
Colette is a very talented person, I love her books and her style. She is very ornate in most of her decorations on her cakes.
My favorite of hers is a cactus in bloom, can't remember if it is in this book or not, but if you buy any of her books you can't go wrong.

Sylvia shares recipes and some great ways to improve your skills as a caker. This is one book worth investing in if you want some good know how. She shows step by step on some flowers and how to make gum paste ribbons. Just an all over good book to have if you want good information.
