Cracking the GRE with DVD (Princeton Review: Cracking the GRE)
Cracking the GRE with DVD (Princeton Review: Cracking the GRE)

Nancy Gibson, July 16, 2008

I just purchased this book as a study guide for the GRE. Prior to purchase I had already taken a couple of demo and practice tests. The strategies in this book are EXCELLENT! I have already improved my practice test scores -- and am feeling more confident.

Well worth the money! A great investment.

Maya Calendar Origins: Monuments, Mythistory, and the Materialization of Time (William and Bettye Nowlin) by Prudence M. Rice
Maya Calendar Origins: Monuments, Mythistory, and the Materialization of Time (William and Bettye Nowlin)

Nancy Gibson, June 19, 2008

Prudence Rice presents a very interesting thesis on the origins of the Mayan Calendar in this book. Her many years of field experience are evident. She presents her arguments clearly, cross-references and documents well. But then, what else would we expect of someone of her level of expertise. I would recommend this book to students, academics and enthusiasts of the Maya civilization. On a recent trip to Guatemala to confer with a K'eqchi Maya colleague, he found her detailed glyph representations and corresponding long and short count information very good. In fact, he asked that I send him a copy of her book.
