Careless in Red: A Novel (Thomas Lynley and Barbara Havers Novels) by Elizabeth George
Careless in Red: A Novel (Thomas Lynley and Barbara Havers Novels)

Pantherpal, May 11, 2008

Surfers, rock climbers, nymphos, and a religious fanatic are foisted upon the reader in Careless in Red, but only minor development of Lynley and Havers. Perhaps George tires of the old series and all those characters readers grew to love. In Careless in Red George introduces at least eleven new characters AND their backstories. It is exceptionally difficult to care about this new lot of whiners and lost souls. Even the murder is a sort of "so what" and frankly gets lost in all the ridiculous turmoil. Longtime readers won't like this much more than Why He Did It. I'd like to know why she (George) did it to us again.
