Black Sabbath: Master of Reality (33 1/3 Series) by John Darnielle
Black Sabbath: Master of Reality (33 1/3 Series)

Wow, it's almost unfair to believe that I'm the first one to comment on this, because JD's book is a stroke of genius. It is moving because his character is human, and has flaws, and is angry and gets cheated and doesn't always learn from the things that he really should. JD's book makes me feel understood in a way that I didn't think was possible. It satisfied me to know that I am human, just like the character and story that is created in this novel, even though this is not a satisfying story, per se. This book is about music and how it helps us be who we are, and it's about how we are all small and broken beings that are still capable of doing wonderful things, and I like that. I connect to that. I feel that. This book is a quick read that I was moved by, and I suggest that you, whoever you are, read it, too. And also check out John's music, because it's also top notch. He is, truly, a master of reality, depending on if you believe in things as flimsy and useless as "reality."
