The Five Things We Cannot Change: And the Happiness We Find by Embracing Them by David Richo
The Five Things We Cannot Change: And the Happiness We Find by Embracing Them

Peg Foley, January 2, 2012

We expect things to go according to plan in our lives, and when they don't, we're shocked and often angry. This book explains how:
1. Everything changes and ends.
2. Things do not always go according to plan.
3. Life is not always fair.
4. Pain is a part of life.
5. People are not loving and loyal all of the time.

Knowing these givens is one thing; learning how to say "Yes!" to them is another thing. Richo does just that. His suggestions aren't pie in the sky. He meets you where you live.

This book has helped me begin to make peace with the recent death of my husband. I highly recommend it.
