A Most Wanted Man by John le Carre
A Most Wanted Man

Peggy J, August 12, 2009

I listened to this on CD and couldn't turn it off. It is a compelling post-9/11 tale of the way in which money, terrorism, and immigration all come together and the public just isn't aware! Cautionary tale to say the least.

Knitting the Perfect Pair: Secrets to Great Socks by Dorothy T Ratigan
Knitting the Perfect Pair: Secrets to Great Socks

Peggy J, August 10, 2009

This should be a sock knitter's bible. Not only does Ratigan have lots of tips for knitting the perfect pair, she has tips for perfect fitting. Great Book!

Coyotes: A Journey Through the Secret World of America's Illegal Aliens (Vintage Departures)

Peggy J, July 1, 2009

I work with illegal immigrants; this book is an excellent description of the hell they go through to get here and stay here. Very well-written.

Still Life with Devils by Deborah Grabien
Still Life with Devils

Peggy J, May 11, 2009

Different from Grabien's "Haunted Ballad" series, this brings her ghosts and a modern murder mystery together in a story combining art, police procedural, and love story. Very compelling, very good.

Duma Key by Stephen King
Duma Key

Peggy J, March 8, 2009

Not as dark as some of his previous works (Dreamcatcher comes to mind) but the storytelling and the suspense remain intact. Childhood memories and parental love intertwine to add an unusual twist to a very spiritual novel.
