Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, America's Invisible Government, and the Hidden History of the Last Fifty Years

Powder Monkey, September 1, 2011

Hang on! If you've had an inkling that things in American politics were not quite as they seem, this is the book for you. We don't like bad news, of course, so be warned that there is plenty of bad news in Russ Baker's excellent book. Document and news media research along with interviews conducted over the years provide support for details presented. Some people may say it's a stretch, except that everything fits into a pattern established early in the 20th Century. Every war after WW II can be linked to long-range, and some short-range planning by a coalition of intelligence and military interests working with those corporations who made billions of dollars from the conflicts. My response to the information, based on my reading of two others books -- JFK and the Speakable and The Psychopath Test -- is that there is an obsessive-compulsive and pathological drive by the family, and others, to maintain status, power and wealth that extends to doing whatever is necessary to meet their goals regardless of the hurt, the pain, or the loss of life, health and income that is inflicted on millions of people not lucky enough to be in the family. There is a mafia-like element in the family's behavior, the current scam being like a protection racket. It's a big book, over 600 pages, and I was persistently drawn to keep reading. We're faced with a serious problem. We need to do something about it. The first step is for everyone to read this book!
