City of Bones: Mortal Instruments #1 by Cassandra Clare
City of Bones: Mortal Instruments #1

PrincessC176, June 19, 2009

It's easy to like the main character, Clary, because she is down-to-earth and no matter what she always seems like a real person. This book not only has a fascinating plot, but the writing holds its own all the way. There are so many twists and turns right to the very end...and you won't see them coming.

With editing help from greats like Holly Black, this book will have you reading other Cassandra Clare novels as soon as they hit the shelves.

Uninvited by Amanda Marrone
Uninvited

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this book. I'm a fan of vampire books but Uninvited has a mediocre plot and writing that didn't really capture my attention.

The Looking Glass Wars (Looking Glass Wars)

The Looking Glass Wars was an absolutely wonderful book that I didn't want to put down. Even if you're not an Alice in Wonderland fan, this book won't disappoint. Seeing Redd is the next in the series and it's a great continuation.

I've read a lot of vampire books and this one definitely brings a new twist I haven't seen anywhere else. If you like fiction, especially vampire fiction, I highly recommend this book! The others in the series don't disappoint either.
