Yet another Newford-based gem from Charles De Lint! The romance unfolds and quirky ammusement ensues when Immogene finds her new home is shared with someone of another world (two someones, really). She soon comes to realize that these other worlds and her own, aren't that seperate. Charles De Lint's Urban settings are a blaze in the Blue Girl.

The new edition (2004) is revised from the 1993 first edition and the 1999 second edition (both of which I own and have read). It has had some sections rearranged for ease of introduction to the language. I cannot be sure how well this works, for I began learning with earlier editions. I do enjoy the newer lay out, and am pleased to find certain typos corrected. The new edition maintains its usability, and reader friendly introductions to a new section. Soon after learning the kana the book introduces to common kanji. This trait is always nice, as a Japanese textbook that is entirely in romanji would be nearly useless for practicality. Overall this is an invaluable text for the learning of the Japanese language.
