This is my all time favorite novel. Tom Robbins is a quirky, unconventional genius. There are so many hidden gems and nuggets of wisdom in this book. It is at times poignant, laugh out loud hilarious, and smart. It is always smart. True to Robbins' style it is unique in it's own right. And as a redhead, I love that "the trouble with redheads" is explored in this book. A brilliant look inside the Iraq War. It's an honest piece from Evan Wright. I really enjoyed seeing the war from his perspective and from the point of view of the Marines that he embedded with. It is a very honest, brutally so at times look at the this period of time and it does not shy away from the horrors of war. I highly recommend this book and the miniseries that was produced from it.
