This Way to the Sugar by Hieu M. Nguyen
This Way to the Sugar

Rezo, March 5, 2015

Powerful ... Moving ... Beautiful. Hieu Minh Nguyen is a newcomer to the national poetry scene. He has been nominated for the 2015 Minnesota Book Award for Poetry and is a Lamda Literary Award finalist. Simply open This Way to the Sugar to any page and you will quickly understand why. His poems deftly interweave themes such as being sexually molested as a child, family ties, his Asian heritage, and sexuality. This is one of my new favorite books of poetry and I find myself reaching for it at random times to read, re-read, another page.

The Woman's Book of Yoga and Health: A Lifelong Guide to Wellness by Linda Sparrowe
The Woman's Book of Yoga and Health: A Lifelong Guide to Wellness

Rezo, August 6, 2012

The Women's Book of Yoga is an essential resource for any woman interested in accessing the power of Yoga to improve her overall health. Through personal stories and careful explanations Linda Sparrow introduces the many ways yoga can be of benefit throughout the various stages of life. The sequences designed by Patricia Walden can be used to focus practice on specific life and health issues as well as to provide beneficial regular daily practice. Each sequence and each pose within each sequence, together with it's desired effects, is described in detail. This is the most helpful book I have ever read on this subject and I look forward to using it as a reference for my Yoga practice.

The Book of Night Women by Marlon James
The Book of Night Women

This book is fantastic. Very powerfully written and deeply disturbing. Marlon James is an amazing storyteller. Once I started this I simply could not put it down.
