Babar's Museum of Art by Laurent De Brunhoff
Babar's Museum of Art

Rhondalea, April 7, 2009

De Brunhoff's Babar encourages young readers to visit museums by establishing one of his own for young elephants. Any children's book that invites young readers to seek a broader educational experience is deserving of consideration. Babar has delighted youngsters for generations. He remains relevant, appropriate and entertaining still.

The Tiny Seed (World of Eric Carle) by Eric Carle
The Tiny Seed (World of Eric Carle)

Rhondalea, April 7, 2009

Eric Carle has favored us yet again, this time with a delightful and accurate description of the life of a seed. Carle educates children without talking down to them. He seems to delight in their company. His colors are clean, crisp and pleasing to a young child's eyes. His story line is captivating and invites re-reading. Hurrah for Eric Carle. He certainly knows how to please children (and adults!).
