This book satisfies the need for "more" about Snowy, Bev, and Puddles, but not in the beautiful, aching style of
The Cheerleader. Everything feels forced (some of the longest sentences you will ever read) as if MacDougall tried too hard to recapture the atmosphere that made the original so touching. Sadly, the characters are just not as interesting or sympathetic as adults.

This book satisfies the need for "more" about Snowy, Bev, and Puddles, but not in the beautiful, aching style ofThe Cheerleader. Everything feels forced (some of the longest sentences you will ever read) as if MacDougall tried too hard to recapture the atmosphere that made the original so touching. Sadly, the characters are just not as interesting or sympathetic as adults.
