There's a reason Kurt Vonnegut has a novel in the list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century. If you're looking for a light, easy read -- prepare to be blown away. Vonnegut's writing style is delineating and somewhat abstract, but engaging as only Modern writers can be. I highly recommend this book, and any other by Vonnegut, to anyone hoping to gain a grasp on literature as an art form. You'll have an incomplete perception of the art otherwise; however, casual readers shouldn't feel overwhelmed. Vonnegut engages contemporary, connectible issues and tropes -- it's no Ulysses, so don't worry! It's not the easiest read, but it's not a work-out either.
