A Place of My Own: The Education of an Amateur Builder by Michael Pollan
A Place of My Own: The Education of an Amateur Builder

Sandi, March 25, 2009

I picked this up in my local library and loved it so much, I made my husband read it (after I read aloud so much of it to him!). We purchased our own copy to enjoy again (and again). We gave a copy to a younger brother (working as a carpenter and discovering the hard work of setting a straight line) who made his friends read it. The desire for your own place, your tree house, your hideaway, whatever it may be resonates in Pollan's design and building of his room. I want his 'treehouse' for MY own.
