Buchanan's book is the one I've been waiting for -- as the mother of a one year old, she speaks to the truth of mothering -- beautiful, raw, tender, like sometimes a bruise can be tender -- and makes me think, "Ah, finally, words to what I've been feeling!"
I made a pact with myself several years ago to stop loading up my bookshelf by reading books from the library only - with few exceptions. So I just read Mother Shock from the library and it is one of the few that I am now inspired to own. Yup, I think it's that good.
