This is one of the most intriguing book that I have read in a very long time. Richard Flanagan is a brilliant writer, he captures the imagination and the truth, and brings the essence of the tale to life. The reality that someone can paint a picture of you, that is so contrary to who you are is staggering. The character "The Doll" does not deserve the plight that she is faced with; being framed as a terrorist is a truth if be told, that occurs almost on a daily basis in the real world. "The Doll", is driven to murder, and her life will never be the same again.
One can only feel sympathy, and compassion for a young women who has had a difficult life as a child, and now as an adult, is framed as a terrorist. A women dances in a slizzy nightclub in hopes of finding a new life, a new beginning. Her dreams are shattered once again.
Keep writing Mr. Flanagan, I will read every book that you publish.
