An Architectural Guidebook to Portland by Bart King
An Architectural Guidebook to Portland

Sentorio, January 26, 2008

I read an Oregonian article describing this book as "witty and unpatronizing," and as I'm reasonably interested in Portland, I got a copy.

I found this book provides a great way to make sense of the city, filtering away the usual pedestrian's take of undifferentiated angles and buildings, and into a layered whole. I really appreciate the many hours of research this project must have taken, and the élan with which King presents it. Very well done.
