My daughter & I were seeking folk tales from Norway, as we both have an admiration for such.
We couldn't have been more pleased by the contents & gained hours of enjoyment together reading them aloud & putting them to memory. My 7 year old daughter's favorite stories were of The Ash Lad. My personal favorite was The Tabby Who Was Such A Glutton, which had me so amused I found it hard not to laugh, as we own a very gluttonous tabby cat.
I would recommend this book to both young & old.
