Legend by Marie Lu
Legend

Shannon Corgill, January 13, 2012

For a first time novelist I was delighted with how well written the story is. I found myself straining to read faster and faster so that I could find out just how everything was going to come to a head. I was not let down as I had an inkling of where the story was going. I really believe that Marie Lu has shown a lot of promise with this first book and look forward to the rest of the series and anything else she has to offer.

A Kingdom Besieged: Book One of the Chaoswar Saga by Raymond E Feist
A Kingdom Besieged: Book One of the Chaoswar Saga

Raymond Feist continues to draw me in to the world of Midkemia. I started reading his books in high school and haven't ever given up. I can honestly say that the continuation of the series keeps me involved in the lives of my favorite characters from the beginning books in the series. I love the continued use of the names used in the first books and the traits that seem to breed true. Raymond Feist continues to delight me and keep me invested in his series.

Dead Reckoning: Sookie Stackhouse #11 (Southern Vampire Series) by Charlaine Harris
Dead Reckoning: Sookie Stackhouse #11 (Southern Vampire Series)

Shannon Corgill, July 25, 2011

I enjoyed this book and the closeness of Sam and Sookie throughout. I felt like this was the second book where Sookie spent a lot of time wondering if she should cut ties with all of her supernatural associates...and nothing was decided. I did however like the look into the relationship of Sookie and Sam...it seemed like Charlaine was trying to push them together a little more. I know they both have significant others but it seemed like Sam was on the fence with his girlfriend at times, and certainly Sookie has issues with Eric, and Bill when he was in the picture a few times.
I totally enjoyed the moments with Bubba. I love every time he is in the story with Sookie.

Overall it was a good book but it was a second book where Sookie thought a lot about the way her life is going without actually figuring anything out.

The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins
The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel

Shannon Corgill, June 27, 2011

I love anything by James Rollins in all honesty. I have followed his Sigma series from the beginning and have totally enjoyed the characters. Once in a while in this book I felt like it was to slow or that the info was bombarding me but every single bit of that was worth it to get to the very end of the book and the secrets that are revealed. Amazing! Now I can't wait until the next one.

Altar of Eden by James Rollins
Altar of Eden

Shannon Corgill, June 11, 2011

I have read everything that James Rollins has put out and this was a pretty good book. I enjoyed it greatly. While it definitely wasn't as good as some of his novels it was a solid story. I loved the setting in New Orleans and the whole Crocodile situation. Rollins definitely tells a great story and he just knows how to weave in fact and fiction.
