It was a fluffy read (but what wedding book isn't?), but it helped provide some alternatives to the traditions that the Wedding Industrial Complex presents. Now, I have all sorts of ideas of how I want to plan a meaningful, personal wedding without spending $22,000 (the average amount a couple spends on a wedding) or inviting 149 people (average number of guests at a wedding). Thank goodness for books like these that make me believe and know that an affordable wedding is possible!
