Haunting story. I couldn't put it down..but at the same time, it is a difficult story to read. The characters were so real..a novel but a real book about the human condition.
I loved this book...not because I loved the story, by any means. This story deals with war, loss, and tragedy. I loved it because of the writing. The author is amazingly descriptive and interesting without being wordy. It is a nerve wracking story about the Palestinians....a view from a young girl in a refugee camp like I have never read before. The story is of four generations and how they deal with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This book really can make you think and feel. I was sad to have the book end..even though it is such a sad story. I would love to read more by Susan Abulhawa.
