I didn't know a lot about the Lindberg's story other than the kidnapping and Anne's book Gift From The Sea.I did not really have a lot to compare the story to so I have to say I enjoyed the book and found it very entertaining.I could glimpse some "nuggets" of reality, but honestly did not feel the book was trying to portray the real story. It did inspire me to find out more about the real details of their lives.I had not known that Anne was an aviator herself and quite a pioneering woman in many ways, albeit conflicted.I recommend reading this book, but leaving the true historical details behind until you finish it.
This book is gorgeous and you will want to keep it nearby for daily inspiration.I read about this book on the Attic 24 blog where I am constantly inspired also.If you love color and eclectic finds you will love this book.If you tend more to very modern sparse settings this might not be the book for you.
With spring garage sale season approaching this book will help you see your new finds with fresh eyes and open your eyes to ways of using very ordinary objects.Highly recommend this book.
This book is FUN! Some beyond cute projects to make gifts for your friends with excellent taste.Spend some cold dark winter nights with this book and some felt and you'll have it made.A note:some of the materials other than felt (i.e. certain buttons or beads) may be a hard find, so you may need to improvise.Don't worry about having the "exact" look as the book, just have fun.A good companion book for your friends on the darker side is Zombie Felties.
This was a difficult book to read at times, the story is about such an unexpected loss at a time of great joy and celebration. It follows the pain and healing of the families of the wedding party for over a year after the tragedy.Beautiful writing through the story of sadness and shock at the sudden unexpected death of a young bride and groom in the hour after their wedding.
A woman and her friend were cycling the Bike Centennial in 1977,starting in Oregon. They only made it to Cline Falls State Park near Redmond. The book is about the brutal axe attack when they were camping there and the writer's journey 15 years later to heal through going back to the past. The crime had never been solved, but most people in the town thought they knew the person responsible.
This is not an easy book to read but well worth it.An amazing story.
