These books are a wonderful way to get into the first level of reading. My son was struggling with the leveled readers from school because they threw too much at him at once. These simple, engaging books build reading confidence page by page by building on the page before. The text follows the 'rules' of phonics so the child can confidently sound all the words out. We had lots of giggles and enjoyment from the wonderful illustrations as well. By the end of the series my son's confidence had been boosted enough to tackle the school readers again. I am purchasing the next set and only wish I had found these sooner and that there were more!
