I was surprised how good most of these stories are. I know most of these people write great songs, so good it seems that good writing goes beyond their usual genre. My favorite story in this book is Rhett Miller's.

All about a higher quality of life based on slowing the pace of your life in order to enjoy it more. We can all use a little more enjoyment in our lives.
I highly recommend this book!

I shared this book as a read aloud with my third grade class as a study in story structure. I had to read it three times because we were all laughing so hard we kept missing things.
After we decontructed the story for all its parts (characters, plot, setting, problem, resolution etc) I put the book on the chalk tray. My students were rushing to finish their work so they could get their hands on it again. They couldn't get enough of "The Dirty Cowboy".
I highly recommend reading this book, especially with boys. I've never had such an enthusiastic response from boys about a book as this one. It helped them see that reading isn't "just a girl thing".

I have a huge crush on Jack Kornfield. His writing makes me think he is funny and kind. He also suffers no fools and manages to answer all the possible questions of the skeptic.
Good stuff.

I love this book! As a teacher, I see how reading aloud with kids really helps them develop as readers. Their fluency, comprehension and love of reading increases with every book I read to them. We develop as a community of readers and sharing book experiences helps us grow as a family.
I recommend this book to parents and I also give it as a baby shower gift. I know it's not a traditional gift, but it's one that can really grow with the child.
