I loved this book. However, I wish to comment on the creation of a fictitious storyline that is built into the life of real historical characters. It strikes me as infinitely unfair to William Osler to burden his historical memory with fictitious events. What is the line between known and accepted history and fiction? This book blurs the lines between the two and I don't think that it is legitimate to combine the two in this way. Though the book was well-written and gripping, the tactic of imposing fictitious events on Osler's history is inappropriate and troublesome.
