Interesting book, good content, however I found it overall not as captivating as was promised by other reviewers.

Dear and Glorious Physician by Taylor Caldwell
Dear and Glorious Physician

ThirdCulture, January 11, 2012

I have been a fan of this book since I was 12 years old when a lady at a local used bookshop recommended my mother read it to me to further my studies of Ancient Rome and Greece. This book follows the story of St. Luke through his whole life. It is a beautiful story of spiritual searching and living with grief and despair. Lucanus, as the saint is called, spends his life as a devoted physician tending the poor. This is one of Taylor Caldwell's best books that she spent years researching. Well worth the read!
