Losing Moses on the Freeway: The Ten Commandments in America by Chris Hedges
Losing Moses on the Freeway: The Ten Commandments in America

Tom Webb, March 22, 2007

The title is an apt metaphor for mid-to-late 20th centuries pilgrims search for the sacred, the true and good. Flying down the freeway carries conotations which suggest we've gone to fast and failed to "smell the roses" All faulty morality starts with an absent or vapid spirituality. For our generation which has often been seduced by this-that-and-the-other thing - Hedges book may well be a wake-up call for those willing to be challenged. I'll certainly read it.
