This book is an excellent story about life at an arts magnet high school with belieavble charaacters. Gretchen, who considers herself just an ordinary girl, narrates with a believable voice even when something extraordinary happens to her. My only criticism is that there is way too much profanity. Many who would enjoy the story will be turned off by the heavy use of profanity. It is not necessary.
Great book for teens during prom season. It is narrated by a senior boy with his take on life & love. As a high school librarian I felt the characters and situations to be real, in a humerous way.

Pleasant cozy mystery, dealing with small town church politics. A few plot twists were surprising. Believe series will get better as characters become more developed.

I loved this book! Like JK Rowling, the author is British. This story centers around a family of wizards (seven sons & an adopted daughter) and assorted friends. In this world wizards & humans live together in cooperation. There are as many plot twists as a Harry Potter book but it never gets as dark as HP has become. There is lots of humor. Everything about this story is delightful and I recommend it to kids 10 through adult. My favorite chapter ia actually the postscript where the fates of many of the minor characters is explained.

Viets has created a new series centered around Josie, who is a mystery shopper. This book is the second in series. Josie is sent to shoe shop (and spy). Story is told with good detail, much humor and a few twists before the satisfying ending. All of Viet'e books are populated with interesting characters. Imagine, getting paid to shop - how does one sign up?
