Wares' compilation is a wide range of accessible essays for all ages and abilities to learn about what we Californians know but don't always express: we are not only geographically a State, but also mentally a State, which is defined not only by where we live but how we think and act. Since we have one of the most ethnically diverse populations of all of these united states, the melding of cultures makes for a unique blend found nowhere else in such density and breadth as in California.
