This book is a fantastic self reflection that is sure to get anyone to think about their own past. It gives a great insight to the personal experiences Maxine Hong Kingston experienced growing up an American Chinese girl. It also gives a strong sense of the problems, racism, and traditionalism that exists with in the Chinese Culture as well as the good.
