These books were written in a very different time in this country's history. As you would expect almost everything to have changed dramatically in the last century, so have social mores. So has the language, our way of dressing, the transporation we use, the way we eat, the way we entertain ourselves. If read in that perspective, there is a lot to be learned about life as it was lived 150 years ago. And I am buying this book now, before it is revised. I think it is important to keep it the way that it is, so we can all learn the lesson that it teaches.
